Saab Sonnet I
Saab presented the Saab Sonnet I in 1957 at the Stockholm Motor Show. With its flat, open body and round headlamps, the first-generation sonnet was very reminiscent of the Porsche 550. Perhaps not entirely unintentionally, the Saab engineers wanted to bring a sports model that matched the taste of the time to the market. The uprated three-cylinder two-stroke engine with 748 cc came from the Saab 93 and made in the sonnet 57.5 hp. In conjunction with the only 500 kg heavy aluminium body, the sonnet came to a respectable 160 km / h.
